The Brown Shoe Student Design Contest is your opportunity to put your best shoe design in front of the leaders in footwear!

Pretend you work for Carlos Santana, Fergie or Sam Edelman. Choose one of these designers and create a shoe design that reflects their line. Your design can be rendered in any way that expresses your concept: through computer programs, 3D mock-up, hand sketches, etc. Your shoe design must be accompanied by a trend board created in Photoshop along with a written explanation of your design and the trends that influenced it. Your trend board may also include fabric swatches, magazine clippings or any other medium that helps explain your idea. Be creative!

A completed, legible Official Entry Form must be attached to your entry. Entry forms are available by clicking the Entry Form & Official Rules link below. They are also available through participating
universities.

Your design must be:

• Original
• Not more than 180 days old
• Sent via postal mail, and received between January 25 and March 22, 2010
• Accompanied by our Official Entry Form

You must be:

• At least 18 years old
• A legal U.S. citizen and resident of the United States.

Employees of Brown Shoe Company, Inc. and its subsidiaries,
divisions, and affiliates, and the immediate family members and households of all such employees, are NOT eligible to participate in
the Contest.

FIRST ROUND
Five to eight semi-finalists will be chosen from all eligible entries submitted between January 25 and March 22, 2010. These semi-finalists will be notified by May 15, 2010 and will move on to the second round.

SECOND ROUND
The top two semi-finalists, will enter the second round by submitting an additional design (sketch guidelines to come). Second Round entries must be submitted between May 11, 2010 and June 8, 2010. Two finalists will be chosen from the five to eight semi-finalist entries and notified by May 11, 2010.

TWO FINALISTS WILL RECEIVE :
An all-expense-paid trip to NYC for the Fashion Footwear Association of New York (FFANY) Shoe Show in June 2010 where their designs will be judged by a celebrity panel, and the Grand Prize winner will be announced.

ONE GRAND PRIZE WINNER WILL RECEIVE:

• Choice of a $2,000 cash prize or 10-week paid design internship at Brown Shoe Company.

Your design will be judged on originality, creativity and inspiration as it relates to one or more of the Brown Shoe brands.

Official Entry Form In order for your entry to be eligible, you must complete and attach this Official Entry Form. Open the Word file, print it out, complete all requested information legibly, and send via U.S. Mail with your design and storyboard.

All entries must be received by March 22, 2010.
